At Home

History of At Home

Originally, this retailer was Garden Ridge Pottery, a single storefront in Schertz, TX, in 1979. In 2014, the company rebranded and took on the At Home name, complete with a new logo, showroom floorplan and blue and gray color scheme. Several years later, the private equity firm Hellman & Friedman acquired this Texas-based retailer.

With around 250 stores in 40 states, At Home gives customers throughout the U.S. access to their extensive furniture and decor selection. In-store pickup is available for those who live near one of the retailer’s locations. However, the company also has online shopping, product shipping and next-day delivery options for shoppers who prefer to browse from the comfort of their own homes.

Eco-friendly practices showcase the At Home brand’s dedication to environmentalism. To limit its environmental impact, At Home artisans refurbish existing commercial properties to create new stores. With this method, At Home reduces the company’s pollution output, as well as its demolition and construction waste.

At Home also runs various charitable campaigns that promote the construction of safe, stable communities. For example, the company partners with Habitat for Humanity in an effort to support individuals and families in need of housing. Customers can purchase Habitat for Humanity from the At Home store to contribute to the cause.

Where is At Home Furniture Made?

At Home sources products from several overseas partners in China, Vietnam, India, Turkey and Mexico. Also, the company emphasizes its commitment to ethically sourced items by ensuring that participating manufacturers follow strict labor, health, safety and environmental standards with competitive wages for their employees.
